Set of wearable jewellery

" Materials that are valuable and which we are in the habit of calling precious, such as gold, silver and gemstones, is this these materials are not ‘naturally’ precious to us, not even in the monetary sense, for they have to be made precious bythe expertise of craftspeople. "
- Helen W.Drutt English and Peter Dormer (1995. Jewellery of our time: art ornament and obsession. P76)

I am trying to explorer the material and value and functional in this set. I am going to use the different materials to make similar things, each material will be a individual piece, and I would like to count the time and cost. I want to see how people valued things in the market.
During the design process I was notice I did put the chain or thread on all the works I did. I remember at the very first I talk about I want my work able to wear, being wear, and it is a important word in my design, but I am asking myself

Christoph Zellweger: A piece of jewellery can be functional without being wearable or vice versa...... Peter Skubic: Despite being wearable, jewellery spends so much of its time not being worn.
Bernhard Schobinger: in jewellery there are message that are more important than the function of being comfortable or not. contempororary jewellers: Interviews with European Artists

Actually, the status of jewellery has nothing to do with the value of the materials but the meanings embedded in design concepts. A piece of jewellery is not only intended foe adornment; it is also expected to deliver a new meaning, express the emotions of contemporary people and exemplify the defining attitude towards life if a certain individual. Such information can trigger common recognition in contemporary society. When people have started to attach more and more importance to the interest, individuality, and tactility of the materials, the notion of “cheap materials” will turn out to be less and less convincing, while choices for materials used will become more diversified and dynamic.
